Fire and ambulance

The major preoccupation of this vital section is to protect the collective life and property of the Chegutu citizens, visitors and neighboring residents.  The section derives operational authority from the legislative dictates of Part XV (Other Powers of Council) of the Act.
The section is responsible for;
 

  1. Responding to fire accidents and extinguishing such fires.
  2. Responding to road traffic accidents and provision of rescue services to accident victims and vehicles.
  3. Provision of emergency rescue services’ training to Council staff and private organizations.
  4. Enforcement of Fire and other emergencies’ by-laws.

Chegutu Municipality  purchased 2 state-of-the-art fire tenders fully- equipped with all necessary fire-fighting technology. Council took delivery of the last purchased equipment on 25 March 2018.  Purchase of these new piece of equipment has further improved provision of fire-fighting services, thereby enhancing the safety of residents, their properties as well as the premises of commerce and industry. This is indeed an exciting development for Chegutu Municipality.
