Chegutu Municipality recently participated in a Programme Based Budgeting workshop facilitated by a team from the Ministry of Local Government.

The workshop was held at Chegutu Municipality, while participants were drawn from Chirundu Local Board, Zvimba Rural District Council, Norton Town Council as well as Chegutu Municipality. The workshop sought to reinforce the new Programme Based Budgeting approach that focuses on Council programmes such as Water, Sanitation and Hygiene; Governance and Administration; Roads; Public Safety and Security Services and Social Services. This budgeting framework departs from the previous practice of departmentalized activity-based budgeting.
