Upgrading of Water Treatment Plant

Chegutu Municipality has completed upgrading some of the infrastructure at the Water Treatment Plant to improve pumping capacity. The works included installation of three new pumps, each with a capacity of pumping 250m3 of water per hour.

Acquisition of a Brand New CAT Steel Vibratory Roller

Chegutu Municipality procured a brand new CAT self-propelled Steel Vibratory Roller to be used for compaction of roads. The roller was delivered on the 17th April 2019. The new piece of equipment comes at an opportune time as Council rolls-out a roads construction and rehabilitation programme within the residential suburbs.

Upgrading of Chakari Water Tower Tank

As the thrust on improving water supply to residents of Chegutu Municipality gathers momentum, the upgrading of the Chakari Water Tower Tank through the separation of the inlet and outlet pipe as well as the installation of new water pumps has been completed.

Refurbishment of Hippo Pools road

Chegutu Municipality is currently implementing the second Phase of the Emergency Roads Rehabilitation project, targeting Hippo Pools road, Station Street and Concession Hill Road. In this second Phase Station Street Road and Hippo pools are now tarred and completed. Completion of these 3 roads will witness a major face-lift of the Municipal surfaced road network.

Chegutu Municipality is currently implementing the second Phase of the Emergency Roads Rehabilitation project, targeting Hippo Pools Road, Station Street and Concession Hill Road.

Cbd roads rehabilitation programme

Chegutu Municipality had embarked on an extensive programme to rehabilitate all CBD surfaced roads. The programme involved ripping off the tar on the badly damaged roads, re-compaction and re-surfacing of the tarmac, while those roads with potholes were also being resealed. The resurfacing programme is going to witness a major face lift of the CBD road network, all for the convenience of Chegutu residents, business and motorists.
